Former congressman meets Truth Movement members on 9/11 War Room
The 9/11 Truth cause is truly entering uncharted territory. In a good way.
For the first time in a very long time, possibly ever, the movement that has been fighting to expose the truth about September 11, 2001, is putting differences aside to take advantage of a huge opportunity to finally get a new investigation into the tragic events of that day.
Spearheading this surprising coalition is former Pennsylvania congressman Curt Weldon, who is planning to use his connections to the incoming Trump administration to push for a presidential task force that would investigate what happened on 9/11.
Weldon appeared on the weekly 9/11 War Room podcast on Sunday – along with about 50 members of the 9/11 Truth Movement – to share his plan.
“I have the ear of the new administration,” he told the group. “I’m going to help you unleash your power. You’re never going to have this opportunity again.”
Weldon, a former firefighter, served as vice-chairman of both the Armed Services and Homeland Security committees during his two decades in Congress. He emphasized that the task force cannot include any government bureaucrats, and it must be independent of Congress. He says he wants a commission of experts that is directly appointed by the president.
Determined to support firefighters in any way possible, Weldon notes that they have long been dissatisfied with the explanations given for how their people died in the Twin Towers. This gives this group a particular reason to continue fighting for the truth about the event. And Congress, Weldon added, will be moved if the focus is on support for firefighters.
“If we take your message and take their power, you will win, and the American people will win. And we will get the truth out. It’s not going to be about logic. If this were going to be about logic you would have had your facts revealed 20 years ago.”
The former congressman has extensively investigated the issue of what he considers to be shocking intelligence failures that he feels contributed to the U.S. government not stopping the “attacks” from taking place. He also feels that the government engaged in a major cover-up to hide its mistakes ever since.
“I know there were lies and distortions of the intelligence before 9/11 and a cover-up of what happened afterwards,” he asserted. “I’m not an expert on the buildings, and that’s why I reached out to learn from you all about the building perspective, what occurred, what we should know.
“The power of this group of people that I want to unleash for you is the power that will let us solve the problems of those families that lost their loved ones on 9/11.”
Although Weldon was interviewed on AE911Truth’s podcast, 9/11 Free Fall, in December, his appearance on 9/11 War Room was the first opportunity for members of the Truth Movement to interact with him directly.
He was accompanied on the marathon four-hour call by firefighting expert Raul Angulo, who recently had an article about Building 7 published in International Fire & Safety Journal and who is playing a central organizing role in this project. It was through Angulo’s article that he came to the attention of Weldon.
“There’s not going to be any healing in the country until we find out the truth,” Angulo said.
The call was attended by a who’s who of the Truth Movement, including Bob and Helen McIlvaine, whose son Bobby was killed by an explosion as he entered the lobby of the North Tower of the World Trade Center on 9/11.
Bob McIlvaine, who remains very emotional about the destructive event that took his son’s life, recounted his disappointment when the interview he and others involved with AE911Truth did with Spike Lee for his 2021 HBO series on New York City was cut from the show.
“The part about me at the end of the video; they told him he had to take it out. That just shows you they’re not going to give any leeway on investigating this.”
And Helen, who usually lets her husband do the talking on this subject, chose to make this day an exception.
“I thought I would just enjoy this moment, because many nights I’ve laid awake and wondered if 9/11 would be forgotten with all the other troubles in this world,” she said. “It breaks my heart sometimes that we haven’t gotten a good solution yet. And to hear that you were going to be doing this today just pleased me beyond words.”
Angulo had other involved parties speak on the call after Weldon. Among them were filmmaker Paul Kayley, the creator of the Calling Out Bravo-7 documentary; Richard Gage, who is just unveiling the second chapter of 9/11: From Crime Scene to Courtroom series; firefighter Capt. Richard Patterson, who was injured at Ground Zero on 9/11; Professor Leroy Hulsey, who headed up the University of Alaska Fairbanks investigation into the government’s claims about the collapse of Building 7; Erik Lawyer, the founder of Firefighters for 9/11 Truth, and New York-area fire commissioner Chris Gioia.
One thing that emerged from the discussion was that the project would use the Building 7 evidence as the spearhead to expose the truth about the entire event.
Angulo explained: “Building 7 is important because that’s where the science is. We don’t have the reports on 1 and 2 but we can prove 7. And that’s the key. If you implicate 7, I think that implicates 1 and 2. Seven is the beginning of the domino tip, and that’s why we have to approach this scientifically. Otherwise, you get into emotions or theories or perspectives, and that’s why the University of Alaska report is so important.”
While members of the Truth Movement have been tireless in fighting to expose the lies of 9/11 to the world, it is the involvement of Weldon that is a game changer. For the first time, we have an ally who knows how government works and how this evidence can be heard.
“I’m going to guarantee it if it’s the last thing I do until I take my last breath, we’re not going to end this thing until we win.”
